A symbol of connection: A Greenhouse stands, where farming finds its part.

Both agriculture and architecture involve a deep commitment to growth, environments that nurture communities, and creativity. Together, they highlight the bond between those who work the land and those who build on and for the land.

This Greenhouse symbolizes connection, designed as an artistic representation rather than traditional horticulture (though that may be in its future). It aims to capture the feeling of a greenhouse, creating a space where light and shadow interact with crafted timber.

Crafted without using screws or nails, the structure utilizes mortise and tendons with the help of a CNC mill and stands as an abstraction, merging the old and new. Details and connections weaving a dialogue between past traditions and future innovations.

This Greenhouse was fabricated for Ann Diener's exhibit "The Invented Land" at MOAH as part of Pacific Standard Time, will find its permanent home on a coastal bluff in Carpinteria. There, it will continue to evoke contemplation, finding its rhythm with its site, surroundings, and the spirit of the land.
