gq2 desk

2403

The reception desk is built from CNC-cut birch plywood, assembled through a system of interlocking slots — no fasteners, no adhesive. The joinery holds the structure together and reads as part of the design.

Diagonal banding in slate gray runs across the natural plywood face, extending a graphic language used throughout the campus. The pattern references the visual logic of the space without overstating it.

The form transitions from a vertical wall element into a horizontal work surface. The counter sits at standard height while the base widens slightly toward the floor. From a distance it reads as a single object. Up close, the layered cuts and slot connections become visible.

The piece was designed to be fabricated in-house, flat-packed, and assembled on site.
